Search for Dateless Registrations
Suffix, prefix and current style registration plates all have a number or letter that identifies the age of the vehicle, be it and letter at the end of the number plate (suffix), beginning of the number plate (prefix) or a number in the middle of the registration (current style).
A dateless number plate is a registration that does not have a specific year identifier and are therefore termed dateless.
Dateless number plates were the original number plates issued to vehicles and some are over 100 years old. The rarity and age of these registration numbers is reflected in their price, with classic "2 by 2s" (Two letters and two numbers) fetching upwards of £8000.
These dateless number plates were issued by local councils who used different letters to represent their area. A1 is the ultimate dateless number plate and was first issued in London in 1903 for a nominal fee. Today the registration plate could easily fetch £1 million if it were for sale.
Cape Plates is proud to offer a range of outstanding dateless number plates along with a huge range of suffix, prefix and current style registrations.
